Topic: The Power of Right View
In this thoughtful session, Datuk Dr. Lim Siow Jin shared reflections on the analogy of sweet fruits used by the Buddha to illustrate the excellence of right view. Dr. Rajesh Savera guided the discussion by connecting the Buddha’s words to the importance of cultivating wholesome thoughts and actions rooted in clear understanding.
The discourse, delivered while the Buddha was residing at Anāthapiṇḍika’s Ashrama in Jetavana, Śrāvastī, highlights how right view influences not only internal inclinations but also external actions. Just as sweet fruits planted in fertile soil yield desirable harvests, individuals with right view naturally develop qualities appreciated and valued by others.
Participants were encouraged to see right view not as an abstract concept, but as a practical foundation shaping daily choices and conduct. The conversation brought forward the transformative effect that clarity and correctness of perspective can have on the individual and those around them.
