Meeting with EA Mall Management
On 29th May 2025, the One Dollar One Child (ODOC) team met with Mr. Santhosh, Assistant Manager at EA Mall in Royapettah, Chennai. The objective of this meeting was to explore the possibility of organizing a public awareness campaign to promote the ODOC Project and its mission to fight child malnutrition through Spirulina supplementation.
THE ODOC Project Goal: Fighting Child Malnutrition
Spirulina as a Nutritional Solution
The ODOC Project, initiated by the Sunyatee International Foundation, aims to improve the nutritional status of underprivileged children through the daily intake of Spirulina—a powerful, nutrient-rich superfood. This low-cost intervention has been proven effective in strengthening immunity and enhancing overall child development, especially in malnourished populations.
Exploring Campaign Options at EA Mall : THE ODOC PROJECT
Indoor Standee Option
During the discussion, Mr. Santhosh informed the team that setting up display standees inside the mall would cost between ₹20,000 to ₹25,000 per day. While effective, this high cost poses a challenge for a non-profit outreach activity.
Cost-Free Outdoor Engagement
As a viable alternative, Mr. Santhosh offered the option to conduct the awareness campaign outside the mall premises free of cost—on the condition that no standees or pamphlets are used. However, distributing brochures and engaging directly with the public would be allowed. This presents a meaningful opportunity to interact with mall-goers while adhering to the mall’s regulations.
Next Steps: Preparing for Public Outreach
The ODOC team plans to leverage this cost-effective model for maximum impact. With advance notice and proper coordination, the campaign can be rolled out effectively to educate the public about the ODOC Project, its goals, and how individuals can support this life-changing initiative.
Conclusion: Spreading Awareness, One Conversation at a Time
This engagement with EA Mall marks an important step in ODOC’s mission to reach broader urban audiences. Direct interaction with the public outside the mall offers a practical and impactful way to spread the message of child nutrition and the effectiveness of Spirulina. By creating opportunities for community participation, the ODOC Project continues to inspire action and build a healthier future—one child, one dollar, one day at a time.
