Extending the ODOC Mission to Tambaram
As part of the ongoing One Dollar One Child (ODOC) Project Awareness and Community Engagement initiative, the ODOC team visited Madarse Jamiat Uloom in Tambaram, Chennai, on 30th June 2025. This outreach visit focused on building partnerships with educational institutions to expand the project’s reach and combat child malnutrition through Spirulina supplementation.

Productive Dialogue with Moulana Mr. Khader
The ODOC team was warmly welcomed by Moulana Mr. Khader, with whom they held a detailed discussion about the objectives and long-term vision of the ODOC Project. The team presented real-world data and stories demonstrating the project’s success in improving children’s nutritional status, especially in low-income and underserved communities.
Moulana Khader showed genuine interest in the project’s potential, particularly how Spirulina has helped address nutritional deficiencies in school-going children from similar backgrounds.
He noted that Madarse Jamiat Uloom currently enrolls 40–45 children, making the institution a promising partner in scaling the ODOC initiative’s impact.
Next Steps: Awaiting Management Review
Following the meeting, Moulana Khader conveyed his appreciation for the initiative and assured the ODOC team that he would present the proposal to the Madarsa Management for further review.
The ODOC team offered to provide any additional materials or data needed to support the school’s internal decision-making process and emphasized their commitment to working collaboratively to ensure safe, effective implementation.

The visit to Madarse Jamiat Uloom represents another meaningful step in ODOC’s journey to bring Spirulina-based nutrition solutions to children across Chennai.
