Date: 7th – 12th June 2025
Location: Siddipet, Telangana
As part of its ongoing Farmer Empowerment Program, the Sunyatee International Foundation completed Fact Sheet Survey – Phase 3 in Siddipet. Conducted from 7th to 12th June 2025, this phase focused on gaining deeper insights into Noni cultivation, key agricultural challenges, and support needs of farmers, building on the foundation established in Phases 1 and 2.
This phase involved five Noni farmers: Harish Rao, K. Naveena, M. Laxmi, M. Shankaraiah, and A. Vijaya, who collectively represent a growing community committed to organic and sustainable agriculture.
Key Observations from the Field: Fact Sheet Survey – Phase 3
1. Soil and Irrigation Practices
All surveyed farmers cultivate in red soil and rely on bore water for irrigation.
Farmers like Harish Rao and M. Shankaraiah are effectively utilizing power sprayers for uniform application of organic inputs.
2. Organic Farming Methods
Every farmer reported exclusive use of organic materials, including cow dung and vermicompost.
Neem oil and ecocide are routinely applied for plant health and pest control. Importantly, no farmer uses chemical protectants or stimulants.
3. Crop Yields
Farmers, including K. Naveena, M. Laxmi, and A. Vijaya, reported healthy yields of 10–15 kg per plant, consistent with earlier survey phases.
4. Pest and Disease Challenges
- Green worm and mosquito infestations continue to impact all surveyed farms.
- A fungal infection was reported by M. Laxmi, making it the only disease-related issue in this phase.
5. Overall Crop Health
General plant health across the surveyed farms is positive, with no significant concerns regarding growth, fruiting, or nutrition.
However, the persistent lack of soil testing is a recurring gap limiting long-term nutrient management.
Key Challenges Identified
- Pest Pressure: Green worm and mosquito infestations pose an ongoing threat to yield stability.
- Fungal Infection: A localized case on M. Laxmi’s farm requires immediate attention.
- No Soil Testing: Despite good practices, farmers lack soil nutrient data to fine-tune input use.
Planned Interventions by Sunyatee International Foundation
To address the above challenges, the Foundation will implement the following:
✅ Pest Management Training
Tailored workshops to educate farmers on eco-friendly pest control solutions for managing green worms and mosquitoes.
✅ Targeted Fungal Support
A follow-up intervention to assist M. Laxmi with managing the fungal disease and preventing its spread to nearby farms.
✅ Soil Testing Campaign
Introducing on-ground soil health assessments to help farmers make informed decisions about organic input application and improve productivity.

Conclusion: Fact Sheet Survey – Phase 3
Phase 3 of the Fact Sheet Survey confirms that Noni farmers in Siddipet are showing consistent results through dedicated organic practices. While yields remain strong and crop health is generally robust, pest control and soil health data gaps continue to challenge progress.
By staying rooted in data-driven support and continuous field engagement, Sunyatee International Foundation is committed to building a sustainable ecosystem where farmers thrive—both economically and ecologically.
