On August 30th, the Little Sunyatee Behavioral Remedial Course was conducted in Pune under the banner of Community Wellness & Self Development (Sunya Training and Events). This unique initiative aimed to create a safe, nurturing, and mindful environment where children could build emotional awareness, strengthen communication skills, and develop positive peer relationships. The course beautifully combined play, reflection, and mindfulness to support holistic behavioral growth.

Building Connection through the Opening Circle: Behavioral Remedial Course
The session began with an Opening Circle, where each child was invited to share something about their friends. This simple yet meaningful activity created a sense of belonging, visibility, and connection, setting the tone for trust and openness throughout the day.

Activities for Younger Children – Playful Learning
The younger participants engaged in expressive games such as Food Bingo, story enactment, and practicing kind words during snack-sharing. These activities were carefully designed to promote:
- Empathy – by recognizing and responding to the needs of peers.
- Communication skills – through storytelling and interactive games.
- Positive peer interaction – by using polite and kind language in daily routines.
These playful methods allowed children to learn important values in an enjoyable and age-appropriate manner.
Activities for Older Children – Conflict Resolution and Reflection
For the older group, the focus was on real-life problem-solving. Through Conflict Cards, children explored everyday challenges and reflected on respectful, thoughtful ways to handle disagreements. This activity encouraged:
- Emotional regulation – learning to pause before reacting.
- Respectful communication – using words to resolve differences.
- Perspective-taking – understanding situations from multiple viewpoints.
Such reflective practices empower children to navigate conflicts with maturity and mindfulness.
Collective Sunya Meditation – Finding Calm Within
The session concluded with a collective Sunya Meditation, where children practiced stillness, deep breathing, and mindfulness. This helped them cultivate inner calm, focus, and balance, while reinforcing the connection between awareness and well-being.
