A Step Toward Better Child Health and Nutrition
Under the ODOC First Assessment at Kurkupet – Sunyatee International Foundation successfully conducted the assessment on 28th September 2025 at Madarse Shamshul Huda, Chennai. The event marked an important milestone in the ongoing efforts to evaluate and improve the nutritional well-being of children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
A total of 46 students participated in the assessment session, which was organized as an extension of the day’s educational program. The session aimed to track the nutritional progress of each student while identifying children in need of further dietary support and intervention.

Assessment Findings and Observations in ODOC first Assessment at kurkupet
During the evaluation, the ODOC assessment team carefully measured and recorded various health indicators such as height, weight, and overall physical appearance. The findings revealed that 40 children were malnourished, with some falling into the severely underweight category. These observations were systematically recorded in the ODOC mobile application for continuous monitoring and follow-up action.
The assessment provided valuable insights into the current nutritional status of the children and laid the groundwork for the next phase of intervention, which includes Spirulina supplementation and nutritional awareness sessions for both students and caregivers.
Community Engagement and Support
The assessment session also served as a platform for interaction and awareness, where the team engaged with students to understand their daily dietary habits and encouraged them to maintain regular consumption of Spirulina as prescribed. The children actively participated and expressed curiosity about healthy eating habits, reflecting their growing awareness and enthusiasm for better health.
The event received strong cooperation from the Madarsa management and teaching staff, ensuring a smooth and effective execution of the assessment activities.
