Strengthening Community Outreach through Engagement at Masjid Al Noor
On 4th July 2025, the One Dollar One Child (ODOC) team conducted another impactful outreach session as part of its Awareness and Community Engagement Initiative (Event 27). The meeting took place at Masjid Al Noor, Chennai, and marked another step forward in expanding the project’s reach and building long-term community partnerships.
Engaging Community Leadership
Discussion with Moulana Sadat Sait
During the session, the ODOC team met with Moulana Sadat Sait, a respected community leader, to present the ODOC Project’s mission and measurable impact. The conversation centered around the initiative’s efforts to combat child malnutrition through Spirulina supplementation and its successful implementation across various schools and madarsas in Chennai.
The team shared detailed insights into:
- The ODOC Project’s structure and assessment methodology
- Documented health improvements in previously participating children
- The importance of community collaboration in sustaining positive change
Potential Partnership with the Associated Madarsa
Masjid Al Noor’s associated madarsa currently enrolls 23 children, positioning it as a meaningful potential partner in the next phase of the ODOC program. Moulana Sadat Sait expressed sincere interest in the project and acknowledged its positive health outcomes.
He committed to discussing the proposal with his internal team and assured the ODOC team of a formal response after internal consultation regarding the institution’s participation.
Conclusion: Continuing the Momentum of Community Engagement
The visit to Masjid Al Noor represents another key milestone in the ODOC Project’s expanding network of engaged institutions. As more madarsas and schools learn about the program, the opportunity to reach underserved children with targeted nutritional support continues to grow.
Looking ahead, the ODOC team plans to intensify outreach efforts and schedule more awareness sessions across Chennai. Through trust, education, and collaboration, the project remains committed to ensuring that every child has access to better health and nutrition—regardless of their background.
