Second Follow-Up Visit to Reinforce Collaboration

On 23rd June 2025, the One Dollar One Child (ODOC) team visited St. Mary’s School in Chennai for a second follow-up meeting, continuing discussions around the implementation of the ODOC Project—a nutrition-based health initiative aimed at improving student well-being through Spirulina supplementation.

The meeting was held with Sister Elvin, the Head of the School, and focused on refining the collaboration process and resolving key queries regarding the project’s integration.

Clarifying Project Goals and Addressing Questions

Detailed Overview and Open Dialogue

During the session, the ODOC team reintroduced the project’s objectives and shared insights into its success in other institutions. The conversation provided an opportunity to answer Sister Elvin’s questions, particularly around Spirulina’s safety, efficacy, and the benefits observed among malnourished children in previous phases of the program.

The dialogue was positive and informative, with a mutual focus on ensuring that the program, if implemented, aligns with the school’s values and prioritizes student health and parental involvement.

Request for Parental Communication and Consent

Following the discussion, Sister Elvin expressed a keen interest in the initiative but emphasized the necessity of parental awareness and consent before any implementation. To facilitate this, she requested that informational brochures be shared with families to help them understand the project and its benefits.

The ODOC team has agreed to provide these brochures, which the school will circulate through its parent communication channels.

Conclusion: Moving Forward with Mutual Trust

The renewed engagement with St. Mary’s School reflects growing interest and support for the ODOC Project within educational communities. With clear communication and commitment from school leadership, the initiative is steadily progressing toward launch.

The ODOC team will now await further communication from Sister Elvin after parental discussions are complete. With continued collaboration, the project aims to make a meaningful difference in the nutritional health of students at St. Mary’s School—one child, one school, one step at a time.
