On 18th May 2025, an enriching live session was conducted by Dr. Rajesh Savera, delving into the deep and contemplative verses of the Ekottara Āgama 19.1, one of the early Buddhist texts.
The discourse began with a sacred recitation:
“Thus have I heard. At one time, the Buddha was staying in the country of Magadha, beneath the Bodhi Tree at the place of practice.”
This setting marks the historic moment shortly after the Buddha’s enlightenment. In solitude and stillness, the Enlightened One gave rise to a profound reflection:
“The Dharma I have realized is deep and difficult to understand. It is subtle, beyond conceptual thought—peaceful and refined. Only the wise can comprehend it. Those who discern its meaning and cultivate it diligently, without weariness, will discover true joy.”
Dr. Savera reflected on the timeless relevance of this teaching. He emphasized that the profound Dharma is not easily grasped by the intellect alone, but must be approached with clarity, patience, and deep experiential practice. The subtlety of truth, he said, requires not just study, but transformation—of perception, attitude, and heart.
The session offered a space for silent contemplation, encouraging participants to connect with the Buddha’s realization—not just as a historical event, but as a living truth accessible to anyone who walks the path with sincerity.
